Hempstead Motorcycle Crash Leaves 1 Dead

A man was fatally hit by a truck after he fell off of his motorcycle in Hempstead on Thursday afternoon.

Nassau County police said the man was riding his motorcycle westbound on Front Street when he fell off, landed into the eastbound lanes and was struck by a van near the corner of Burston Street at 1:14 p.m.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.  His name was not immediately available.
