Children Dancing, under the direction of Beth Jucovy, will begin its 30th anniversary year in Great Neck.

Founded in 1988, Children Dancing offers education in various techniques for all levels of students ages seven years to adult, including classical ballet, with an emphasis on technique, musicality and artistry. This year, the school is also bringing back its signature creative dance classes for young children.

“Classes have always been sensitively geared for each individual,” said Jucovy. “Families are consistently delighted with the personal and professional teaching that takes place.”

Jucovy has fostered many dancers who began with her at age 3.

“My students have gone on to be college dance majors and performers, as well as people who have had their lives greatly enriched by immersion into the beautiful, creative yet disciplined art of dance,” said Jacovy.

In addition to classical ballet and creative dance, jazz/theater dance and Isadora Duncan dance classes are also offered. Private sessions and body conditioning for well-being, including an entire body stretch and strengthening class based on the Nickolaus Technique, are available for adults as well.

This season’s classes will be held at two locations at both ends of town—at All Saint’s, 855 Middle Neck Rd., and at 122 Horace Harding Blvd. in its newly renovated studio—beginning on Sept. 16. To register or find out more about classes, call 516-314-2359, email childrendancing.ny@gmail.com or visit www.childrendancing.net.

Jucovy will also be teaching early-afternoon classes for adults in ballet, creative classical dance and jazz dance with Great Neck Continuing Education at the Cumberland Center, beginning the week of Sept. 11. Call 516-441-4949 for more information or to register.

Children Dancing is the affiliated school of Dance Visions NY, which has performed at many Gold Coast gardens, estates and parks this past summer, including at Steppingstone Park on Aug. 20. Catch the group at the Universalist Unitarian Congregation Shelter Rock on Oct.1 or in New York City at University Settlement from Dec. 14 to 17.
