More than 700 people attended 13th annual Evening of Tasting and Giving charity fundraiser that raised $165,000 to help fight pediatric cancer on Monday, Oct. 2 at The Carltun in East Meadow.
The fundraiser showcased Long Island’s best restaurants, bakeries and wineries. Proceeds benefited The Cancer Center for Kids at NYU Winthrop Hospital, the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Program at Stony Brook Hospital and other pediatric specialty programs.
The event was organized by the nonprofit Michael Magro Foundation, which is dedicated to the support of children with cancer and other chronic pediatric illnesses. The group is named in honor a 13-year-old Hicksville Middle School student who died of leukemia.
This year’s honorees were Mike Cave and Rich Cave from 1st Equity and PinkTie.org. They made a $50,000 donation.
The vendor sponsor was Americana Manhasset.
