Meet Dogs, Cats Seeking Homes at Long Island Shelters

Sally
Sally

With three lovely ladies available for adoption this week, it makes it hard to choose which one will be your new best friend. Read all about Sally, Nikki and Penny and how to bring them home with you today!

Available at Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter, Sally is a gorgeous 6 1/2 year old, tan-and-white baby girl with the saddest eyes and sweetest smile. Sally is a scared at the shelter, and would love nothing more than a nice warm bed and a quiet home of her own.

Sally knows multiple commands, and is said to be house trained, and requires a home as a solo dog. If you are interesting in saving Sally, please contact the shelter for more information at 516-785-5220, stop in for a visit at 3320 Beltagh Ave. in Wantagh or email them at adoption@tohmail.org

Nikki

Right next door at Last Hope Animal Rescue you can meet this very pretty, 7-month-old stray Treeing Walker Coonhound puppy named Nikki! She was likely discarded in a rural Southern area the way so many Coonhounds are before she was rescued and brought to Long Island.

Nikki is a wonderful dog who gets along well with kids and other dogs. Right now she is a big puppy and needs someone who will be consistent and patient with her; to transform her into the well-mannered and gorgeous dog she has the potential to be. Also awaiting her forever family is Penny. Rescued in Corona, Queens in July, this sweetie was pregnant and just about a year old. While all of her kittens have been adopted, Penny is now spayed and ready for a home too. She approaches for petting and if you are not close enough she starts rubbing affectionately against her cage door.

Penny would make the puuurrfect lapcat and BFF for any feline lover. To learn more about adoptiong Penny, check out her webpage at lasthopeanimalrescue.org

As always, thanks for reading and please remember to always adopt, never shop…pass it on!
