Nina Gordon, Steve Silverman, Rich Shapiro and Jed Berman will present a program of guitar, vocals, percussion and keyboard featuring bossa nova classics by Antonio Carlos Jobim, American standards with a bossa nova beat, and Beatles favorites at 1:30 p.m. in Main’s community room.

The Evolution of Bob Fosse

Author Kevin Winkler will present a fascinating look at the evolution of Bob Fosse as choreographer and director during four decades when he discusses his book Big Deal: Bob Fosse and Dance in the American Musical at 2 p.m. in Main’s community room.

Craft for a Cause

Learn the basics of Microsoft Office, including how to create Word documents, navigate and use common settings at 2 p.m. in Main’s STEM Lab. Pet Food Drive

Donate food for all pets, especially 5- or 10-pound bags or canned dog and cat food, kitty litter, treats and new toys, unopened and in original packaging, at all Great Neck Library locations in April, during the eighth annual Legislative Pet Food Drive sponsored by Assemblyman Anthony D’Urso in partnership with Long Island Cares, which started Baxter’s Pet Pantry in 2009 and has distributed more than 1-million pounds of pet food.

Prospective Candidates Search

For the 2019 Great Neck Library election on Oct. 28, prospective candidates are being sought for two seats expiring in January 2020—one on the Board of Trustees to fill Scott Sontag’s seat and one on the Nominating Committee to fill Patrick McDonnell’s seat. A nominee must be a member of the Great Neck Library Association by Oct. 7, 2019, at least 18 years old, a resident of the Great Neck School District and either be a valid library card holder or registered voter with the Nassau County Board of Elections.
