PET EVENTS

North Shore Animal League America is waiving adoption fees for felines one year and older for all approved adopters through Sunday. Cat enthusiasts looking to adopt are invited to visit the Little Learners building on campus to find new feline friends. Head over to their Port Washington Campus and adopt your new best friend!

Fixing Felines Spay/Neuter Event: Did you know kittens can be spayed/neutered as young as 8 weeks/or weighing 2 pounds? If you know a cat or kitten in need of a “fix,” there is a wonderful Fixing Felines Spay/Neuter event starting at 8 a.m. July 14 at Farmingdale Dog & Cat Clinic, 908 Conklin St. in Farmingdale. Call 631-439-5796 for questions and/or to schedule an appointment.

Their low-cost services include $68 for females, $58 for males (includes rabies & distemper vaccine, flea treatment and deworming). This is a great opportunity for those who help Long Island’s stray/feral cats. Don’t hesitate, call today!

Visit Bideawee’s new pop-up shelter at 61 Main Street in Westhampton Beach though September 1. Adoptions will be processed on site. Hours of operation each week are 2-6 p.m. Thursdays, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sundays.

Buca
Buca

Special Request: Finding a Home for Buca:

Buca is seeking a rather special home and person who can help him live out his life in a peaceful, loving way. At only 2 years old, this young baby has been diagnosed with feline leukemia. Since Buca’s rescue, he continues to improve dramatically; gaining weight and warming up to people, but sadly cats with this illness typically don’t have a long lifespan.

Buca was also diagnosed with a heart murmur which is treatable and common in cats. If you or someone you know can provide this sweet fella with the ultimate forever home, please call or text Stephanie at 516-974-6129.

Bran and John Snow
Bran and John Snow

Available for adoption at North Shore Animal League America:

Bran (adoption #E01987) and Jon Snow (adoption #E01988) are devoted friends who have survived so much strife in their young lives, yet together they’re a happy duo. These older kittens (Bran is 20 months and Jon Snow is just 11 months) can be found peacefully canoodling in their bed, dreaming of a safe forever home. While Jon is cautious about new surroundings, Bran has taken the changes in stride.

They’re a wonderful balance for each other and are sure to fill your home with joy. If you would like to give these sweet boys the keys to rule your kingdom, the North is waiting – visit NSALA’s Port Washington campus or contact DoritS@animalleague.org for more information.

Agatha
Agatha

Agatha (adoption #H209837) has settled nicely into the adoption center at NSALA and is now ready to finally find her forever home. Agatha is being treated for chronic rhinitis (a covered medical condition through our on-campus Medical Center.) She would love to be the only pet in her new home, so she is sure to get all the attention she desires.

Agatha eagerly awaits making your acquaintance, and once you meet, you’ll have discovered a new best friend to bring home. If you’d like to adopt Miss Agatha, or have any questions about her diagnosis, please reach out to DorisS@animalleague.org

Juan and West
Juan and West

Juan (adoption #R166818) and West (adoption #R166821) have a lot on their minds. These older kittens (Juan is 14 months old and West is 15 months old) were very suspicious of volunteers and staff when they first arrived after a long trip from North Carolina. But time (and ear rubs) are winning them over.

A calmer home with older children will help east them into realizing that being loved by their own human is everything they could ever want. If you were thinking of rescuing a pair in need, Juan and West make a great choice! DoritS@animalleague.org is ready to answer any questions you might have about this curious kitty combo.
