Calling all Long Islanders — join Life’s WORC, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism, in a virtual 5K from now through March 31.

This challenge can be completed at any time at the location(s) of your choosing. Just make sure to walk, run, jog or even roll 3.1 miles. By doing this, you could help support not only Life’s WORC but the Life’s WORC Family Center for Autism’s vital programs.

The mission of Life’s WORC is to provide services and support that facilitate an independent and fulfilling life experience for people with intellectual disabilities and autism.

There is a $30 registration fee for each participant of the virtual 5K. For additional donations of $250 or $500, organizations and individuals can sponsor residents of a Life’s WORC home.

All virtual 5K participants will be entered in a raffle to win prizes, including gift cards and gadgets. To make the challenge even more enjoyable, a grand prize raffle will be held for donors and sponsors at $500 and up, which gives you a chance to win an electric bike with a price value of more than $1,000.

Along with a multitude of prizes, Life WORC’s Homes will have their shot at winning a pizza party for the house that raises the most money.

Invite your family and friends to support and join in on the fun for a special cause in the Life’s WORC #LW FitChallenge. Text “Fit” to 345-345 to make a tax-deductible donation to Life’s WORC in your name.
