The Rockville Centre Breast Cancer Coalition hosted its Second Annual Golf & Tennis Outing at the Seawane Golf Club in Hewlett on Oct 3. Last year, about 100 golfers and 32 tennis players participated in the event, which helps fund the emotional and financial support provided to those who will face the devasting diagnosis of breast cancer in the coming year. Since RVCBCC was founded five years ago, the coalition has expanded its outreach beyond the village of Rockville Centre to include several other South Shore communities. The mission of RVCBCC is to provide support services to those in the community who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. The organization aims to provide education and programs to help empower women and men to make informed decisions regarding their treatment.
RVCBCC’s outreach and care counselor programs are designed to provide support to local breast cancer patients. Co-presidents Peg McDonald and Erin O’Sullivan are longtime Rockville Centre residents who both grew up in town.
