Long Island best-selling author Nelson DeMille released his latest novel, The Maze, on Oct. 11.
The Maze is the eighth book in DeMille’s series of novels following the fictional protagonist, NYPD Homicide Detective John Corey. The stories are based on the actual, unsolved Gilgo Beach murders on Long Island.

DeMille grew up on Long Island and graduated from Elmont Memorial High School, then attended Hofstra University. After three years in college, he enlisted in the Army and became a Lieutenant from 1966-69. The Vietnam veteran returned to Hofstra and earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and history.
DeMille published his first novel, The Sniper, in 1974. His first John Corey novel, Plum Island, was published in 1997 and was a #1 New York Times bestseller. In total, he has 21 bestselling novels.
