Trick Dogs, Cats Hope You’ll Treat Them to a Home This Halloweekend

KJ

Please remember to keep your furry friends safe this Halloween by steering clear of crowds, loud noises, chocolate and candy, and even jack-o-lanterns, which can include a mold/bacteria that is poisonous to pets. Additionally, be sure your pet’s tags and microchip information is up to date in the event they become lost.

Don’t have a bestie to dress up with this year? Head down to any of these local rescues/shelters and adopt or foster one today!

Special Request from the Town of Babylon Animal Shelter

Bahama
Bahama

At 12-years-old Bahama is a senior guy who lost his home when his family lost their home. Bahama may have a short span ahead of him, but wouldn’t it be wonderful for it to be in a home. Bahama spent his whole life as an unneutered male and he was used as a stud dog so living with another dog in a home could be challenging. Bahama is a sweet boy and he has lots of love to offer… and then even more love to offer. Bahama walks nicely on a leash and he does get tired easily especially on warmer days.

For more information about saving Bahama, please call the shelter at 631-643-9270.

Tink

Meet Tink! Born October 2019, this little ash colored beauty is vocal when it comes time for breakfast, lunch and dinner! She enjoys lounging by the windows, basking in the sunshine, birdwatching, soft brushes and sometimes some alone time. She does take a couple weeks to warm up to new environments and new friends but once she’s settled she’s definitely queen of the kingdom.  To adopt Tink complete the adoption application at tenderlovingcats.org or by email meetthekitties@tenderlovingcats.org

Zendaya 1
Zendaya

Zendaya is a one-year-old Domestic Shorthair who arrived at the Smithtown Animal Shelter earlier this year. She is an absolute sweetheart who is playful and loves to spend time with people. Zendaya is positive for Feline Leukemia, which means she should be the only pet in the home or should live with other Leukemia positive cats or cats that are vaccinated for it. Leukemia cats typically live a shorter life, but they are filled with so much love to give and deserve the happiest homes to make the most of the time that they have but putting in the extra effort is worth it when you get some affection back from the wonderful Zendaya.

If you are interested in helping Zendaya start her next chapter, please call (631) 360-7575 for more information today!

Available for adoptions from Lend-a-Paw Inc.

Salem
Salem

Salem is one of three kittens rescued last month. At about 5-6 months old, Salem is very playful and has been with his brothers since birth. He is shy at first but once he feels comfortable and safe, he loves to run around and play with his toys. Salem would do best in a home with other cats and children. If your family is looking for an energetic kitten, Salem is your guy!

Ivy is a rare 5-year-old Siamese mix girl who was rescued after being seen on Craigslist! Her right eye does have a cataract but it has not affected her vision. Ivy is so beyond sweet and affectionate. She would be best in a home with other cats and children. If your family is looking for a cat that has a great personality, Ivy is the purrfect cat for you!

Smalls
Smalls

**Senior Alert** 9-year-old Smalls was rescued last year when his owner was unable to care for them because he had to enter a nursing home. Smalls has made many friends at the rescue and is a mentor for the younger cats. Smalls loves affection, being pet, and catnip. He would love a forever home that will give him all the love that he deserves.

KJ
KJ

KJ was surrendered to a high kill shelter after his owner became homeless. After facing euthanasia, his advocates fell in love with him and asked Lend-a-Paw to step in to save him, and they did! This 5-year-old American Bully is housebroken, affectionate, and intelligent. KJ would love a home with a yard to run around and play in. He would benefit from a companion female dog his size or being the only pet. He would bond with his owner almost immediately.

Buddy
Buddy

Buddy was surrendered after his owner no longer wanted him. No one can understand why though! This 6-month-old boy is beyond lovable and is a really good snuggler. Buddy knows a few commands like sit and down. He loves to play with his chew toys and his other foster siblings.

Jin and Aslan

**Double Adoption** Jin (Adoption #NCI2948) and her brother Aslan (Adoption #NCI2949) were rescued in upstate New York and transported to us at Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center where they’ve been winning over hearts since their first hello! Toby
Toby

When 1-year-old Toby’s family declined the medical attention he needed, Animal League America stepped in to make sure he received treatment so he’d could go on with his life as a happy, healthy tabby boy. He’s recovered beautifully from bulla osteotomy surgery (he had an ear canal removed) and is getting to know his feline roommates at Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center with a touch of caution as it’s his first time sharing a space with other cats. His experiences may have left him a little shy about new situations, but he has the spirit of a warrior when it comes to tackling new obstacles.

Keroppi

Helloooo Kitty! Five-month-old Keroppi (Adoption #E3904) is ready to hop straight into your heart and you’re going to open your arms wide to catch him because this little boy is quite the survivor! He came to Animal League America from their recent Hurricane Ian rescue and he’s ready to start fresh up north with you. Noodle and Ramen
Noodle and Ramen

**Double Adoption** Nine-month-olds Noodle (Adoption #G28902) and Ramen (Adoption #G28903) were briefly separated when they first arrived on a transport from Georgia, making their reunion that much sweeter! Now these very bonded look-alike sisters are at each other’s sides, ready for whatever adventures await ahead. They’re a couple of charmers who we expect will be working their way into everyone’s hearts. If two sisters sound purrfect for your family, please come to North Shore Animal League America and meet the delicious Noodle and Ramen today!

**Double Adoption** The universe revolves around Sunshine (Adoption #G28909) and her sister Moon (Adoption #G28910)! These gorgeous nine-month-old gals from Georgia have different approaches to new experiences, but that’s what makes them purrfect together. A residence (with children aged 10 and older) will provide them with the stability they need to ease into their first real home. While Moon likes to observe her surroundings with caution, Sunshine throws caution to the wind, leaping into the arms of visitors as if to say, “take us home today!” Smart girl! We have a feeling these sweet sisters will be enjoying life in a loving household very soon!  Will it be yours?

Pippa
Pippa

After spending some time in a foster home with other cats, 6-month-old Pippa (Adoption #H211696) moved into Animal League America in hope of finding a permanent home. She’s gingerly taking in her new surroundings, and has a gentle, ingratiating energy that wins hearts easily. Her time outdoors may have left her FIV+, but the rest of her life will be enjoyed safely indoors where she’ll never have to worry about anything but when her next ear rubbing session will begin. Pippa is a wonderful choice for first time cat families. Ask about meeting her today; maybe you’re the car ride home she’s been hoping for!
