Bethpage High School was filled with the spirit of Italy as the school’s Italian Club, Circolo Italiano – along with Ms. Calio and Ms. Salcedo – hosted the second annual Carnevale celebration on Thursday, Feb. 26, . The event transformed the high school’s cafeteria into a gathering of Italian music, food and culture.

Nearly 100 guests attended and the event was supported by generous donations from Red Volpe, Mario’s, Patrizia’s of Hicksville, Ciminelli’s, Bella Vista Pizza, Calda Pizza, Zucker’s Kosher Bakery, Sweet Sensations, Hot Buns, Sapori del Vallo, Pappardelles and Italiano’s Pizza.

Students and community members had the opportunity to take part in various activities that highlighted the artistic traits of Carnevale. Attendees decorated their own masks using paint and bright stickers. Face painting was also added in while numerous backdrops were placed around the cafeteria for friends to capture memories. Guests also enjoyed live music performances by Brent Chiarello, Kirsten Warnokowski and Bethpage’s talented band students as they ate delicious Italian food. Raffle tickets were also sold, with the prizes being gift cards to Pappardelle’s.
