Michael J. Posillico received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Clemson University. After completing his studies he began working for his family’s business, Posillico, Inc. (formally known as JD. Posillico, Inc.) a long recognized leader in the heavy construction industry. In early 1991 he founded Posillico Environmental (formally known as Blue Water Environmental, Inc.), which specializes in large-scale industrial remediation and marine construction. A “brand” change in 2007 has brought together all of the Posillico enterprises under one name. Michael manages the Posillico Development companies, which are undertaking some of the most challenging “Brownfield” projects in our region and the United States. He also serves as Chairman of Posillico Environmental and continues to be active in many high profile clean-up projects in the Tri-State region.

Michael and his family have generously supported various Long Island charities for many years. Through The Posillico Foundation, Michael continues to make many commitments to charitable work to further his family’s support of those less fortunate and through business leadership has sought to improve the quality of life on Long Island.

In 2010 Michael joined the Board for the New York League of Conservations Voters and is currently serving as the Chairman for the Long Island Chapter. Michael is also serving on the Board of Gilda’s Club New York. He is the past President of the Farmingdale College Foundation and served on the board of Vision Long Island, a working “Smart Growth” organization committed to improving housing, environmental, transportation and economic development in our region. From 2009 to 2012 he served on the Long Island Lutheran School Memorial Endowment Foundation.

Incorporated in 1946 under the presidency of Joseph D. Posillico, Sr. as a small trucking contractor, the company has grown to become one of the top engineering contracting firms in New York. These complex projects more often require off-peak construction during nighttime hours with stringent penalty/ bonus clauses, which have been consistently achieved by the Posillico team.
