The New Hyde Park/Garden City School Board voted, at its last meeting, to reappoint Ernest Gentile as president and Joseph Bongiorno as vice president of the school board.
Prior to this appointment school board trustees Gentile, Bongiorno and Joan Romagnoli were all re-sworn into office.
The board then continued with its reorganizational meeting which included the administration of oath to superintendent Robert Katulak. Further, the administration of oath was administrated to the district clerk Patricia Olive, district treasurer Lori Carrick, treasurer Michael Frank and deputy treasurer Mary Ellen Kenney.
The board also reappointed Lamb & Barnosky as its attorney, bond counsel Hawkins, Delafield & Wood, LLP, fiscal advisor, Municipal Advisors Corporation (NYMAC).
The board also re-appointed Dr. Frank Roberto as the school physician at a fee of $5,500 and Dr. Salvador to administer TB tests to volunteers in the District’s Volunteer Assistance Program at $40 per visit.
The Independent Auditor, R. S. Abrams, LLP has been re-appointed at a fee not to exceed $34,200, a change from last year of $36,800.
The Claims Auditor Nawrocki Smith, LLP has been re-appointed not to exceed $15,000, the same amount as last year.
Further, the Internal Auditor of Cullen & Danowski, LLP has also been re-appointed not to exceed the amount of last year of $30,600.
It was noted that all auditors are mandated by New York State to keep track of the books of all school districts.
Records access officer is Robert Katulak and attendance officers are the principals of each school including: James Svendsen, Margaret Marenghi, Karen Olynk, Diane Weiss, Dr. Deborah King, Dr. Joseph Shaffery and Maria Georgakis.
The Records Management officer is Judith LaRocca; Asbestos Designee, Robert Moss; Purchasing Agent Robert Katulak; Title IX Compliance Officers Michael Frank and Judith LaRoccca, Section No. 504 Officer, Dr. Deborah King.
Trustees David DelSanto and Joan Romangnoli were appointed as liaisons to the high school.
Official designated banks are State Bank of Long Island, Bank of America, TD Bank, Citibank and HSBC.
The official newspapers were designated as the Illustrated News, Herald Courier and Newsday.
The board also approved the Food/Lunch provided by Preferred Meals, Inc. Superintendent Katulak added, “There were 3,000 more lunches served this year than last year, so the students are definitely enjoying the lunch program.
The board then adjourned the official reorganizational meeting and moved to the regular school board meeting.
