Free Workshop on Tai Chi for Breast Cancer Patients

Tai Chi is an ancient art that has been practiced for centuries in China. In the last 10 years, it has become highly recognized in the west as an exercise that brings harmony to the mind and body. The slow dance-like moves combined with regulated breathing aim to circulate “chi” (the body’s internal energy). This concentrated movement helps to restore balance, improve posture and strengthen muscles while calming the mind. It is a safe and effective exercise for everyone to perform at her own
level of ability. The instructor, Dorothy Scott, has been a teacher and practitioner of Tai Chi for the last nine years. Her style is consistent with that of the “Wu” form of Tai Chi. 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Alumni House, 154 Cambridge Ave., Adelphi University. Preregistration is required for all workshops. Call 877-4325.
