While we have all been thawing out from the cold of winter, college basketball is entering the hot point of their season this week.
With March Madness right around the corner, it is time for each conference in Division I basketball to hold their conference tournaments, and the Big East starts up on March 8 and runs through to March 12 at the mecca of basketball, Madison Square Garden.
The first round starts tomorrow at 12 p.m. when DePaul takes on UConn. Other games slated for tomorrow are Rutgers versus Seton Hall, Villanova versus the University of Southern Florida, and Marquette versus Providence.
Wednesday marks round two of the tournament, with the winners from Tuesday advancing to play seeds 5-8.
St. John’s has its first game on Wednesday, where it will play the winner of Seton Hall and Rutgers. The Johnnies are the fifth seed in the tournament.
If St. John’s can advance, they take on number four seed Syracuse on Thursday.
The Big East is loaded this year, with some experts picking as many as 11 Big East teams to make the Big Dance.
All of the action can be caught on ESPN this week.
