Anna Paquin might think nobody cares who she’s attracted to, but thousands of “True Blood” fans might disagree with the star of the HBO series.
In an interview with V Magazine, Paquin explained that she didn’t wait until last year to admit her bisexuality because she was ashamed, but simply because nobody asked.
“Frankly, no one had ever asked me before,” she told the mag. “My sexuality is something I’m completely comfortable with and open about.”
“There’s a lot of prejudice toward us, but the more people talk about it, the less of a big deal it will be,” she continued. “And that will be better for everyone. Who people choose to sleep with—or spend their lives with—shouldn’t matter, not that anyone particularly cares who I’m attracted to.”
Paquin, who also played the character Rogue in the “X-Men” series, also talked about hooking up with her husband and “True Blood” co-star Stephen Moyer while in character.
“Maybe it should be weird, simulating sex with your husband in front of people,” said the Canadian-born New Zealand actress. “But it’s really not.”
Paquin plays Sookie Stackhouse—the youngest of two children who had telepathic powers since she was a child.
