The trailer for the first installment of the Spiderman reboot films “The Amazing Spider-Man,” has been officially released online.
The past three “Spider-Man” film stars Tobey Mcguire and Kirsten Dunst, have now been replaced by younger actors. Andrew Garfield from “The Social Network” and “Easy A” star Emma Stone will be playing the lead roles of Peter Parker and his love interest, Gwen Stacy–Peter Parker’s first true love.
The new flick will also be bringing in a few new actors including Denis Leary as George Stacy, Irrfan Khan as Proto-Goblin as well as Martin Sheen as Ben Parker and Sally Field as May Parker.
The first official trailer for the film shows a younger version of the character of Peter Parker quickly grow up. The iconic scene where Parker is bitten by a radioactive spider is also shown, similar to the scene shown in the first “Spider-Man” film.
The trailer was originally rumored to makes it official debut at Sony’s Comic-Con panel this week in San Diego according to Screenrant.com.
The original “Spider-Man” flick that was released in 2002 grossed over $821 million, earning over $114 million in its opening weekend alone. “Spider-Man 2” took in over $783 worldwide and “Spider-Man 3” in 2007 topped its best earning $890 million.
The reboot was directed by novice action filmmaker, Marc Webb. The screenplay was written by “Harry Potter” screenwriter Steve Kloves and previous “Spider-Man” screenwriter, Alvin Sargent.
The films star Garfield and director, Webb are still set to speak about the new movie at the convention. According to the movie news website, Firstshowing.net, the pair will be discussing details about the film for the first time this week.
“We’re thrilled to be bringing Spider-Man back to Comic-Con. It’s an exciting place to give the fans an inside look into what the new Spider-Man film is all about,” said president of Worldwide Marketing for Sony Pictures, Marc Weinstock.
Garfielld recently posed for the cover of Entertainment Weekly in the superhero suit and told the magazine he was excited to play iconic character according to MTV News. “I related to Peter Park so much because I felt like someone else inside. I loved the comic book and the animated TV series and I even dressed up as Spider-Man as a kid,” said Garfield.
Despite the trailers release, “The Amazing Spider-Man” won’t make its debut in theaters until July 3, 2012.
