Susan Powell in a photo made available by HardmanWest Valley Nevada police announced a new possible lead Thursday related to the disappearance of Susan Cox Powell, a missing mother who hasn’t been seen in more than a year.

Investigators say they will conduct a search Friday in Ely and its surrounding area as a result of new information they have discovered, which they haven’t released the details of at this time.

Powell was reported missing on December 7, 2009. Her friends and family are hosting an event on Saturday to increase attention on the case and the $10,000 reward being offered for information on Powell’s disappearance.

Powell has two children. Her husband Josh Powell said the night before she went missing, he had taken their kids camping in extremely cold weather in a remote area in Tooele County and when he returned the next day his wife was gone.

Josh has been under suspicion in the disappearance of his wife since he had refused to cooperate with investigators and police said at the time that two days after Susan went missing, Josh rented a car and traveled hundreds of miles within 24 hours.
