Elmont Woman Arrested For Stealing Puppy From Disabled Children’s Home

At 10:30A.M., Daffney Rincher, 27, of Elmont was arrested at her home after allegedly stealing her employer’s pet puppy.

Rincher was working as a home health aide for two disabled children at a Westbury home when she made the surprising steal, a nine-week-old Havanese named Lily. On August  18, when Rincher completed her shift, she hid the family’s dog and walked out with it.

Following an investigation, the puppy was recovered by police and has since been returned to the family.

Rincher was charged with Petit Larceny and will appear at First District Court in Hempstead on Tuesday, September 13.
