The 13th season of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars kicked off Monday night.
The night welcomed new faces and a whole new look. In August, TMZ reported that Dancing with the Stars received a massive summer make-over, one that cost a reported $3 million.
The gossip site reported that the set would include a new balcony arrangement and that the dance floor would also be upgraded.
As far as new faces, the night welcomed Nancy Grace, Ron Artest, Rob Kardashian, Kristin Cavallari, Chynna Phillips, David Arquette, Elisabetta Canalis, Hope Solo, Carson Kressley, J.R. Martinez, Ricki Lake and Chaz Bono.
Bono was by far the most anticipated dance of the night, and was the first transgender contestant in the show’s history. The LGBT activist and author is the son of Sonny and Cher. Ultimately, Chaz and Lacey performed the cha cha and scored a mediocre 17.
Leading scorers of the night included Martinez with 22, Phillips with 22, Solo with 21, and Lake with 20. The lowest scorers included Artest with 15, Canalis with 15, and Kardashian with 16.
