The movie comes as the fourth Columbia Pictures film based on the famous Marvel Comics character and the first film in a rebooted Spider-Man film franchise.
It’s the famous story of Peter Parker, played by Andrew Garfield, who’s described as “An outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben and Aunt May.”
“Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today,” reads the trailer caption. “Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (played by Emma Stone).”
While in high school, Peter starts developing his super powers, in one scene his strength shows as he easily throws a bigger bully against the school lockers.
The story unfolds as Peter discovers his late father’s briefcase and begins a mission to find out what happened to both his father and Peter’s mom. He soon finds his way to Oscorp and Dr. Curt Connors, who worked with Peter’s father. His parent’s secrets are discovered and their mysterious disappearance soon unravels.
The movie is set to hit theaters July 12.
