Look’s like Tim Tebow and Jeremy Lin will be able to really become chummy, because the polarizing quarterback is headed to the New York Jets, according to reports.

ESPN is reporting that the Jets are sending a fourth-round pick to Denver for Tebow, who took Denver by storm and started a national craze called “Tebowing” (something a couple of Riverhead teen’s know very well).

Tebow became available after the Broncos signed legendary quarterback Peyton Manning, who was officially introduced on Tuesday.

Tebow was put on the trading block, and the Jets bit the line, and he’s now bringing Tebowmania to New York.

The news comes several weeks after the Jets gave Mark Sanchez a contract extension, which to some was seen as a move to boost the young QB’s confidence after a shaky 2011 season and after the front office’s brief flirtation with Manning.

The Jets and Jacksonville Jaguars were the favorites to acquire Tebow, according to reports.

The trade for Tebow could ignite a quarterback controversy for the Jets.

Cornerback Antonio Cromartie already came out on Tuesday on his official Twitter account, to offer his own opinion about the rumors that the team was looking to trade for Tebow.

“We don’t need Tebow,” he said. “We sell out every home game let him go to Jacksonville Tampa or Miami. Our wildcat offense can b ran by J. Kerley or Joe McKnight we straight.”

On Wednesday, he sent out another tweet, saying: “Y bring Tebow in when we need to bring in more Weapons for@Mark_Sanchez let’s build the team around him. We already signed to 3 year ext.”
