But don’t pack your bags just yet, according to plans, it will be floating in the United Arab Emirates by 2015. And they’re expecting big numbers, according to Yahoo the resort island is expected to attract millions of visitors in the first year alone.
The venture will come with a hefty price tag of $1 billion and comes in partnership with RAK Marjan Island football Investment Fund and the government of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, reported Reuters.
Pictures were released as well as plans that share the resort island’s exciting features. It will include a marina, sports facilities, hotels and beachside bungalows, a theme-park with a rollercoaster, a Real Madrid museum and a 10,000-seat oceanfront stadium.
The island will be located 45 minutes from Dubai airport and according to the National Post, Louis Armand de Rouge, French executive on the project said, “The Emirates and Ras Al Khaimah is really the gateway to the Middle East and to Asia and that’s really our target here today.”
