Jessica Sanchez managed to wow the crowd again on American Idol.
Last night, Sanchez took the stage to perform one of Beyonce’s famous songs. It was an episode in which contestants were able to choose to perform their idol’s hits and for Sanchez it was Beyonce’s Sweet Dreams.
Before taking the stage viewers watched as Sanchez was mentored by singer Stevie Nicks. Nicks was impressed by Sanchez, who she said was a “good student” in addition to being a good singer.
“You did a beautiful job on it,” said American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez. “If I was Beyonce and I was home and I heard that, I’d be like ‘I got to do that in my next concert, slow that one down.'”
“Great performance,” said judge Steven Tyler before raving about her dress “beautiful dress” and saying “I think you’re a star no matter what.”
“I say it all the time, stars are born,” said judge Randy Jackson of the singer before saying “I look forward to hearing you every night” and that the performance was “Unbelievable.”
Earlier in the competition Sanchez, wowed the audience and judges during the “guys vs. girls” performance round. Wearing a long blue gown, the 16-year-old singer took the stage and belted out the famous lyrics of late singer Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You.”
”Jessica Sanchez is legit,” said Jackson. “I think you’re one of the best singers in this whole competition.”
“I don’t even know what to say, I’m speechless,” said Lopez to which Tyler added “You just made 40 million people cry.”
