Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are officially engaged.
A representative for Pitt told the Associated Press that their engagement “is a promise for the future.”
The engagement news surfaced Friday after jeweler Robert Procop confirmed the engagement saying he helped design the diamond ring, which took a year to design, according to reports.
The couple was also spotted earlier this week at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and Jolie was seen sporting a shiny diamond ring.
Pitt, 48, and Angelina, 36, haven’t set a wedding date yet, the AP reported.
They have six kids together.
If everyone thought Kim Kardashian’s wedding was a big deal, just wait for when Pitt and Angelina decide to officially tie the knot.
The power celebrity couple famously met on the set of “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” in 2005 while Pitt was still married to “Friends” star Jennifer Aniston. The pair divorced that same year after five years of marriage.
In 2005, Pitt was by Jolie’s side while she adopted daughter Zahara, who joined her adopted son Maddox, both of whom Pitt later adopted.
But their relationship wasn’t officially confirmed until 2006 when the actress revealed she was pregnant with Pitt’s first child to People magazine. They added to the family when they adopted a child from Vietnam in 2007 and welcomed twins in 2008.
Pitt recently hinted at a possible engagement when he told CBS that the two were getting pressured to marry from their children.
Pitt’s rep told the AP, “Their kids are very happy.”
This won’t be Jolie’s first marriage. The actress was married to British actor Jonny Lee Miller before they divorced in 1999. She also married to actor Billy Bob Thornton, but they divorced in 2003.
