Sheree Whitfield confirmed the news recently with Wetpaint Entertainment that after four seasons on the hit show, she wouldn’t be returning for the fifth.
“After four solid seasons of helping Bravo build the show into its most successful Housewives franchise, I have decided to leave. The direction the show is going in is no longer a fit for my lifestyle. I’m tired of the fighting and the cattiness,” she told the entertainment site.
Whitfield went on to reveal that she wants to opt for something more empowering and inspire women to not only be healthy but treat themselves with respect. “I wish the rest of the women the best of luck. I’m thrilled to say I’m now a free agent and am already fielding offers,” she told the site.
While Whitfield won’t be parting and fighting with castmembers anymore, on air at least, but she will be busy improving her fashion line She by Sheree.
The show first premiered in the fall of 2008 and revolves around women in Atlanta, Georgia. The series proved most successful and became the highest rated show of the Real Housewives franchise and was the highest rated reality series on the Bravo network.
Over the years, and through the seasons, the drama intensified and the tension was evident on almost every episode including this past week’s Season 4 reunion. On the Sunday night reunion, even typically drama-free Phaedra pointed out that there was a divide among the women that was growing greater by the second.
Among the screaming matches during the episode, Sheree wasn’t the only one getting into it. Almost every castmember got into a screaming match with another. Check it out and what’s to come.
