Jimmy Fallon is the latest person to take on Carly Rae Jepsen’s hit song “Call Me Maybe,” and managed to outdo all of the others by enlisting the help of The Roots and Jepsen herself for the performance.
Fallon, The Roots and Jepsen all took on different instruments, Jepsen with the triangle and Fallon with the tambourine. The others took on instruments like the ukulele, bongos and the xylophone.
It’s not the first time Fallon teamed up with another celebrity to perform a song, he’s also performed with President Obama and Justin Timberlake.
And it surely isn’t the first time a celebrity performed Jepsen’s song, that was first released back in September off of her second album “Curiousity.” Since its release, a slew of famous faces have performed her song in viral hit videos.
Fellow Canadian Justin Bieber remade the song earlier this year. In the video, he starred alongside his girlfriend Selena Gomez and friend Ashley Tisdale, all who lip-synched the famous lyrics “Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, but here’s my number, so call me, maybe.”
Katy Perry also remade the song in a video of her by the pool with friends also lip-syncing the lyrics “It’s hard to look right, at you baby, but here’s my number, so call me, maybe.”
But celebrities weren’t the only ones to remake her song. A plethora of sports teams performed the song too. The women’s rowing team of Southern Methodist University in Texas, University of Florida’s baseball team, Monmouth women’s lacrosse, Texas State baseball, Forest Hills rowing, University of Connecticut’s women’s rowing and women’s basketball, are just a few teams that recreated the song via Internet video.
Additionally, a remake of the song went viral back in April featuring trio of girls and a Papa Johns delivery man.
