Town’s residents enjoy food, entertainment and music
On the weekend of the 144th running of the Belmont Stakes, the New York Racing Association, the Floral Park Chamber of Commerce and the Incorporated Village of Floral Park sponsored the 11th annual Floral Park Belmont Stakes Festival. The festival itself took place on June 10 from 2 to 7 p.m. on Tulip Avenue, a day after the running of the Belmont Stakes.
Residents who went to the festival were able to take part in a variety of family-friendly activities that included live music performed by Mike Barry Music, Butchers Blind, Rake, The Dogs and Pete’s One Man Band. Local radio station KJOY 98.3 manned a booth and entertainment also came in the form of dance performances by Dancin’ Queens and a number of street performers. Inflatable rides, face painters, delicious food, and cold drinks were also available throughout the fair for all festival-goers.
