You can expect one songstress to be singing a different tune soon.
Most of British singer Adele’s hit songs were inspired by her failed relationships in past years but pretty soon her fans can expect to hear a different side of her, a much happier one. The songstress is pregnant with her first child.
Adele, best known for her powerful vocals on hits like “Rolling In The Deep” and taking home a dozen Billboard Music Awards for “21” in May and six Grammys in a few months before that, is expecting her first child with boyfriend, Simon Konecki, 36.
The 24-year-old announced the exciting news, that she had joined the pregnant celebrity train with the likes of Vanessa Lachey, Uma Thurman, and Snooki, on her website earlier this month.
“I’m delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together,” she revealed through a post titled “I’ve Got Some News.” Adele added, “I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time.”
The news comes as quite the surprise from the couple, who has dated for over a year and months earlier shot down rumors of an engagement. Adele sparked rumors of a possible engagement when she was spotted sporting a massive diamond on her left hand more than once in previous months. The rumors were shot down by the singer herself who denied the engagement on Twitter.
Just this year, Adele told Vogue that she was going to take some time off from singing so she can focus on her relationship. “I am f***ing off for four or five years,” Adele told Vogue. “If I am constantly working, my relationships fail.” Adele added, “And then I don’t know what I’ll do. Get married.”
Adele will also reportedly become a stepmother to Konecki’s daughter from a previous marriage.
