Ollie’s Point/Revolution Music Hall in Amityville is the place to go to get your indie-folk music kick with Good Old War on Friday, July 13.

This folk trio from Philadelphia was No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart in March after they released their latest album, Come Back as Rain.

“What I’m most excited about is playing on Strong Island,” said Tim Arnold, drummer, vocalist, keys and accordion player for Good Old War. “We haven’t really played there in so long and you guys are f***ing crazy. We love it. Can’t wait.”

Good Old War is a band for all generations to enjoy. If those who come to the shows sing along with the songs, then the band was successful in doing what it set out to do, Arnold said.

“The crowd steers the ship, we just give the coordinates. And Long Island never disappoints when it comes to the navigation of the party,” he said.

The Good Old War performance will feature additional artists including NGHBRS, This Good Robot and Life Between Sleep.

Good Old War has recently played on Conan and just finished a tour with Counting Crows that took place throughout the month of June, until July 1.

This fall, they set out on another tour to be the main support for Dispatch. They will be performing at famous venues including Radio City Music Hall and Tower Theater.

“As long as the end is never in sight the future will always be something to look forward to, kind of like this Long Island show,” Arnold said. “Could it be the best thing that ever happened to Good Old War? Maybe. We’ll see”

Tickets cost $15, the doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at at 7:30 p.m.
