The Best Secret In Town
Did you know that each of our neighborhood parks runs a playground program every summer? Children entering first through eighth grades who are residents of the village are invited to come to the park during the summer to find out what activities are taking place.
Each park has its own “flavor” and “favorite” activities. The park directors and their staff run games, sports, tournaments, and arts and crafts activities during the day and into the evening. Trips are also run through the parks.
These activities, except for the trips, are free for anyone attending. Registration is not necessary. A child may attend any day they choose. The children are supervised while in the park, but the children attending must be able to come and go to the park as they please or a parent or child care provider must be in attendance while the child participates. This program cannot be used as babysitting.
When: Monday through Friday. The program began on Monday, June 25 and will end Wednesday, Aug. 15.
Where: Nassau Haven, Edgemere, Tullamore, Grove, and Hemlock Parks
Time: Beginning 10 a.m. and running throughout the day, check your local park for posted schedules.
This program is only as great as the children who attend. Please support parks staff as they strive to create a great summer for the children.
