Dance Classes
Learn the art of social and ballroom dancing with professional dance instructors. Singles and couples welcome. Beginners and advanced. At Kismet, 18 W. Nicholai St., Hicksville. Fall Festival
Fall harvest festival at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 99 Central Park Rd., in Plainview from noon to 4 p.m. Event will feature pony rides, children’s costume parade, pumpkin painting, tattoo and face painting, scarecrow making, ice cream, farmers’ market, apple pie baking contest, bake sale, raffle baskets, a beer tent for the adults and more. Hospice Care Network’s Crystal Ball Gala

Family History Workshop
Jewish Genealogy Society of Long Island (JGSLI) will have its 22nd Annual family history workshop: “Jewish Genealogy 101: Four Hours Plus to Your Family Roots” from 12:30 to 5 p.m. at the Mid-Island Y-JCC, 45 Manetto Hill Rd., in Plainview.
