Wings franchise opens
third Long Island
location in
Garden City
Wings are the thing at Hurricane Grill and Wings. The family-friendly franchise recently opened its third Nassau County restaurant in Garden City on Stewart Avenue. A special ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring an appearance by Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano was held that included daylong festivities.
The spot for the location has been discussed since last October 2012, according to one of the four owners and managing partner Bob Engel, who also owns the restaurant’s Syosset location.
“It’s an outstanding spot outside of the mall,” says Engel. “We love the spot, it gives us our own identity here in Nassau County and there’s lots of parking, which is really important for a restaurant.”
“It’s like our own little island here,” added fellow owner Dean George.
While the doors opened on the first day of July, the real party on this culinary oasis went down a week later when the festivities, which were planned by marketing manager Danielle Dellilo, took place at the restaurant.
“It’s been great,” says Dellilo, in regard to the chain’s first week of business at the new location. “The holiday week was a little slow but there is a big buzz going around because we’re here.”
