Zumba Gold For Seniors or The Beginner Adult
Fall classes will be held in St. Paul’s Senior Center on Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m. or Thursday afternoons at 1 p.m. Each 45-minute class teaches the basics of Zumba and is led by certified Zumba instructor Felicia Lovaglio. This class is geared for seniors or the beginner adult. Classes begin the week of Sept. 16.
Prices are as follows:
Monday at 6:30 p.m. Seniors (65 or older)- $50. Others – $90
Thursdays at 1 p.m. Seniors (65 or older)- $50. Others – $90

Adult Yoga Registration Begins
Certified yoga instructor Connie McKnight has designed adult yoga classes with all ages in mind. Each class is one hour long. Any resident of the Inc. Village of Garden City is invited to join these relaxing classes.
The course schedule is as follows:
Mondays at 7:30 p.m. beginning Sept. 9 to be held in St. Paul’s Senior Center.
Wednesdays at 10:15 a.m. beginning Sept. 11 to be held in St. Paul’s Cluett Hall.
(This is an intermediate class for people who have been attending our classes or have knowledge of yoga)
** New class Wednesdays at 9 a.m. beginning Sept. 11 for beginner yoga

The Recreation Department Has Hershey Tickets
The recreation and parks department has been able to secure a limited amount of Hershey Park tickets on consignment. The tickets are good for one day during the rest of the season. The cost per ticket is $48, which is over $10 off the gate price. To purchase ticket to Hershey please visit the office at 108 Rockaway Ave. Cash only please.
Parent And Child Sports Squirts Classes
The recreation and parks department will again offer a Parent and Me Sports program, run by US Sports Institute this fall. The US Sports Institute’s Parent & Me Sports Squirts programs have been designed to introduce children aged 2-3 years old to a variety of sports, games and group activities, all with the help of mom or dad.
Each Day the USSI coaches will lead the parent and child through a series of fun games and activities designed to encourage learning, develop gross motor skills and promote social interaction.
The classes will be offered as follows:
Wednesdays Sept. 25- Nov. 6
(7 weeks) – Cost $95
9-9:45 a.m.
10- 10:45 a.m.
11-11:45 a.m.
Thursdays Sept. 26 -Nov. 7
(7 weeks) – Cost $95

It’s Time To Register For Roller Hockey
It is time to register for fall roller hockey. Whether you played in the past or looking to get involved, there is no better time to sign up and experience all the fun. All programs take place at the roller rink located at Community Park. To register please visit the recreation department’s administrative office at 108 Rockaway Ave. Applications are also available at www.gardencityrecreation.org Please make all checks payable to the “Inc. Village of Garden City”. Remember space is limited in all our programs so please register early.
This season, the roller hockey programs are broken down into grades. Please pay careful attention as grades and dates/times have changed.
Each participant is required to wear full equipment at all times. This includes: hockey helmet with cage, hockey gloves, shin pads, elbow pads, roller blades, hockey stick, long pants, and a protective cup.
Kindergarten Learn & Play Clinic
No experience is required in hockey or roller skating. This hour-long clinic will take place Sunday afternoons at 1:45 p.m. beginning Sept. 8. The cost of this eight-week program is $75.
1st Grade Squirts Division
This beginner program will continue to develop young players through drills and scrimmages. This hour-long clinic will take place Sunday afternoons at 12:30 p.m. beginning Sept. 8. The cost of this eight-week program is $75.
2nd And 3rd Grade Pee Wee Division
Games will take place on Sunday afternoons with either a 3 p.m. or 4:15 p.m. game time depending on your child’s team schedule. Season begins on Sept. 8. The cost of this program is $75.
4th And 5th Grade Mites Division
Games will take place on Friday afternoons with either a 4 or 5:30 p.m. game time depending on your child’s team schedule. Season begins on Sept. 13. The cost of this program is $75.
Middle School Junior Division
Games will take place on Fridays with either a 6:45 or 8:00 p.m. game time depending on your child’s team schedule. Season begins on Sept. 13. The cost of this program is $75.
Senior Division For 9th, 10th, & 11th Grades
Games will take place on Sunday evening’s at 5:30 p.m. Games are in a “pick up” format. This eight-week program will begin on Sept. 8. The cost of this program is $65.
Adult Division For 30 & Over
Games will take place on Sundays at 7 p.m. (4 games) or Fridays at 9:15 p.m. (4 games). Games are in “pick up” format. This eight-week program will begin on Sept. 8. The cost of this program is $65.

Multi-Sport Camp During School Break
The recreation and parks department will again offer the US Sports Institute Multi Sport Camp during the school break on Sept. 5 and 6. This camp will be held on St. Paul’s fields and will be open to children residing in the Inc. Village of Garden City ages 5 – 12.
With multiple sports in the two days of fun, the Institute’s Total Play Multisport Camp offers variety, quality and fun that can not be matched! Each participant will learn the skills and rules of different sports while enjoying fun scrimmages and games.

Come Play Miniature Golf At Community Park
Come visit the recreation department’s beautiful 18-hole miniature golf course that is open to residents and non-residents alike to enjoy. Newly constructed in 2008, the course provides enjoyment for both young and old. The course has twists and turns that will excite players of all ages. A beautiful setting is offered with a shaded picnic area, a playground and a snack bar. The course is located behind the Garden City Pool complex, adjacent to the tennis center.
