I would like to take this opportunity to put my support behind the candidacy of Ms. Pat Aitken. As a person involved in the financial field, I fully appreciate the background and knowledge that Ms. Aitken brings to the table, for the benefit of our schools and community.
In her nine year history with the schools, Ms. Aitken has been able to bring forward thinking and financial strength to the school board, as evidenced by Manhasset’s lower than average budget increases as compared to Nassau County’s budget increases.
Additionally, Ms. Aitken has shown tireless energy in participation with all that is necessary to keep our schools at the top of the ratings charts.
I would add that being a school board member today is a far cry from the position that it used to be. This is not ONLY about being at a kindergarten
presentation, but also about being able to make intelligent choices about the fiscal future of our schools.
