Field Trip Helps Exam Prep

The fourth grade students of Our Lady of Victory recently got to explore the world of science at the Liberty Science Center in New Jersey. Upon arrival, all were amazed by the giant sphere hanging from the ceiling that magically expanded and contracted.

During their visit they enjoyed such exhibits as Eat and Be Eaten, Our Hudson Home, Wonder Why, and Energy Quest. All displays were fantastic but there were two that all agreed were the best: Skyscrapers and the Touch Tunnel.

In Skyscrapers, students got to walk across steel beams suspended above the gallery floor (wearing a safety harness of course).

In the Touch Tunnel, they made their way through pitch black tunnels using only their sense of touch to find the exit.

The eager learners were then treated to a movie about lemurs in the nation’s largest IMAX Dome. It was a fun learning experience for all as they prepare for the state science exams.
