The Anonymous People
On June 4, the YES Community Counseling Center at 152 Center Lane in Levittown will be showing the 2014 Prism Award winning documentary film The Anonymous People at 7 p.m. Admission is free, but donations are suggested. For more information contact Angela Piccininni at 516-799-3203.

Comedy Benefit
On June 5, Skaggs-Walsh Heating Services will host a special comedy night, from 8-9:30 p.m., at the Brokerage Comedy Club in Bellmore. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person with the proceeds going to benefit the ELIJA school in Levittown.

MacEttes Kickline Clinic
On June 7, kids in grades 1-5 are invited to join the MacArthur High School MacEttes Kickline, from 9:30-11:30 a.m., for this two-hour instructional dance clinic where they will learn pom technique, kicks, dances, jumps and turns. Cost is $25 to participate and comes with snacks. It is recommended that participants wear sneakers, shorts and a lightweight shirt. For more information contact coach at macettes46@yahoo.com.

On June 9, Island Trees High School students entering the National Junior Honor Society will head to the high school auditorium at 7 p.m. for the induction ceremony.

Division Avenue High School will showcase several different works of art, starting June 12 at 7 p.m., when it will host the Career Development Creative Arts Show.

On June 13, from 6-9 p.m., South Levittown Lanes will host the Spc. Daniel Fuentes Memerial Bowling Fundraiser at the South Levittown Lanes, at 56 Tanner Lane in Levittown. Eyes of Learning Lecture
On June 13, join author Jim Fargiano for a lecture at 8 p.m. about “You and Me and Dead People; Making Light of Death.” At this presentation Jim will give a brief overview of how he came about communicating with loved ones on the “Other Side.” All of his events are interactive which means audience members may ask questions whenever they want. In addition Jim has learned that he frequently gets sidetracked by his guides and teachers in the Light and may briefly go off topic, all of which makes for fun and spontaneous evening.

“Thank You Veterans” Dinner
On June 14, state Sen. Kemp Hannon will be holding a special Veterans’ Appreciation Dinner on June 14 at the American Veterans Post 88 at 692 Broadway in Massapequa. “I invite all veterans and active duty military personnel in my Senate District (plus one guest) to join me for a free dinner as a ‘Thank You’ for all you do for this great nation,” Hannon said. There will be two seatings, from 4-5:30 p.m. and from 6-7:30 p.m. Seating is limited and reservations are necessary to attend. To make reservations call 516-739-1700.
