Robert Cinnante And Michael Dougherty
The Plainview library presents tenor Robert Cinnante and pianist Michael Dougherty as they perform a recital of classical and operatic works, as well as beloved standards and show tunes. Cinnante is a graduate of the New England Conservatory and Dougherty is a member of the Symphonic Wind Ensemble. The event starts at 3 p.m. in the library’s auditorium.

The Long Island Center for Business & Professional Women will meet at The Inn at Fox Hollow, 7755 Jericho Turnpike in Woodbury, where the group will install its 2014-2016 board of directors and award scholarships to noteworthy honorees; two young ladies who have made great achievements in their high school careers and in their communities. The night will also provide networking opportunities for all who attend. The event takes place from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Advance tickets cost $35 for members and $45 for non-members. Tickets at the dorr cost $45 for members and $55 for non-members.

Israeli Movie Night
Thursday is Israeli movie night at the Mid-Island Y JCC. At 7 p.m., adults of all ages can watch Dark Night; the Israeli-Palestinian conflict manifests in its most complicated form over one night, and the encounter between two Israeli soldiers and the two Palestinian residents of the house to which the soldiers escape after their vehicle is attacked. Lions Club Meeting
Serving the Plainview-Old Bethpage and Bethpage communities since, the Lions Club holds dinner meetings on the second Wednesday of every month except July and August. The Lions Club strives to make a difference in local communities and encourages residents to come in and voice their concerns.
