The Syosset community celebrated the talent, creativity and imagination of children grades K through 12 who expressed their uniqueness and originality through the nationally recognized PTA Reflections program. Honoring the creators of the 174 entries from all schools within the Syosset district and presenting 82 of them with a certificate of achievement at a special Reflections ceremony held at South Woods Middle School, 22 projects were then selected for submission to New York State for the National PTA Reflections program. All students inspired us with their projects relating to the theme “Believe Dream and Inspire.”
Reflections is an annual PTA program designed to enhance quality arts in education. All students in kindergarten through grade 12 are encouraged to create works of art in the areas of literature, music, photography and the visual arts for fun and recognition.
At the Syosset District awards ceremony, the students’ work was displayed for the peers, parents, school administrators and school board members to enjoy. New this year was a theme search for the following year’s Reflections Program. At present, and of all entries submitted, the National PTA has selected 5 semifinalists. Three happen to be from the Syosset district: Francesca Napoleone, Jacqueline Jampolis and Dahlia Solomon. Below is a listing of those students who have qualifed for NYS recognition. Congratulations to all of our students who entered.
