A Floral Park man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly killing an 85-year-old pedestrian in a hit-and-run crash in the victim’s hometown of Melville over the weekend, Suffolk County police said.
Harvinder Hothi was charged with leaving the scene of an incident without reporting involving a fatality.
Vehicular Crime Unit detectives said the 45-year-old suspect was driving his vehicle southbound on Route 110 when he struck Robert Hosking near the corner of West Lyons Street shortly before 9 p.m. Friday.
Hosking was taken to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, where he died the follow day.
Hothi will be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Central Islip.
