A Bohemia man was arrested after he allegedly lit a bottle full of flammable liquid on fire and threw it out of a moving vehicle in Lake Grove on Sunday night, Suffolk County police said.
Officers responded to a report that a incendiary device landed in the street, which caught on fire before a resident extinguished the flames with a hose shortly before 8 p.m., police said.
Witnesses provided police with a description of the vehicle, which officers found less than an hour later at Gulf gas station on Expressway Drive South in Holbrook, police said.
Anthony Persico, 25, was identified as the suspect who threw the flaming bottle.
Arson Squad detectives charged him with criminal possession of a weapon.
He will be arraigned Monday at First District Court in Central Islip.
