A 73-year-old Patchogue man was killed in a two-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning.

Suffolk County police said Anthony Baldassarre was driving his Toyota westbound on Vehslage Street when his car collided with a northbound Chevrolet pickup truck at the corner of North Ocean Avenue in North Patchogue shortly after 5 a.m.

The victim was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, where he was pronounced dead.

The other driver, 22-year-old Christopher Young of Bay Shore, was taken to the same hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Fifth Squad detectives impounded both vehicles, are continuing the investigation and ask anyone who may have witnessed this crash to call them at 631-854-8552.
