Two major holidays—Columbus Day and Veterans Day—are upcoming and on both days, A Class Act NY will be making a visit to the Sid Jacobson JCC in East Hills for acting lessons.

On Monday, Oct. 13, Columbus Day, A Class Act NY will present T.V. Disney + Nick Workshop. The focus of class will be proper on-camera acting, audition technique and how to analyze sitcom sides. Actors need to learn the tone in which Disney and Nick shows are written so that they make the right acting choices.

Participants will work with artistic director/casting director, Jessica Rofé and a top talent agent, Mallory Levy of Generation T.V. in a four-hour workshop focusing on proper on-camera acting for kid friendly shows.

Mallory will also conduct mock auditions and offer helpful feedback and coaching. She is always on the lookout for fresh faces. The class takes place from 1 to 5 p.m. for aspiring thespians ages 7-16. Cost is $175 for non-member and $150 for those JCC members. On Veteran’s Day, Tuesday, Nov. 11, there will be a Musical Theatre Workshop with a Matilda actor and a top NYC talent manager.

Work with a star from the Broadway smash hit, Matilda on a song and dance combination from this family friendly musical. Then, the Broadway actor will participate in a Q + A with participants and sign autographs.

In addition, bring in an audition song and sing for the artistic team and a top talent manager who will offer helpful feedback and coaching on your performance. Don’t miss out on this rare and unique opportunity to work with a star from your favorite show and a top manager who is always looking for new talent.

The class is also for students ages 7-16. It also takes place from 1 to 5 p.m. Costs are the same, too: $175 for non-member and $150 for those JCC members. To register for both events, call Susan Kalman at 516-484-1545. The JCC is at 300 Forest Drive, East Hills.
