The Gold Coast Arts Center (formerly the Great Neck Arts Center) celebrates Gala 2014 on Monday, Nov. 3, from 6 to 11 p.m.,  at Leonard’s Palazzo. 555 Northern Blvd. in Great Neck.  The Arts Center is taking over Leonard’s Palazzo for a wonderful night of cocktails and a “walking supper,” awards,  a silent auction, exciting performances, dancing and a “rocking” after-party.

Each year the Great Neck Arts Center produces a glamorous Gala to recognize the achievements made by those in the Arts and those in the community, and to raise necessary funds for the valuable outreach and scholarship programs that the Arts Center offers to thousands in the region.

This year’s honorees include: Catherine Martin as the Artist of Distinction.  Martin is a four-time Academy Award-winning production and costume designer of The Great Gatsby and Moulin Rouge. Michael Glickman will be honored as the GCAC Man of the Year.  Marie Cecile Flageul and Jonathan Cohen, known as Meres, will be honored with the One Arts & Activism Award.

Gala Chair this year is Sumi Glickman and co-chairs are Natalie Mashaal and Carolyn Starman Hessel. The Honorary Gala co-chair are: the Mindel family and the Inn at Great Neck.

The Gala coordinator is Ronni Berger of the Gold Coast Arts Center. Regina Gil, founder of the original Great Neck Arts Center and executive director of the Gold Coast Arts Center, acts as ex-officio of the 2014 Gala.
