Shirley, West Babylon Home Invasions Probed

Suffolk County police are investigating two home invasions in as many days in West Babylon and Shirley, including one case in which a victim was stabbed last week, authorities said.

In the first case, a man entered a home on Rockledge Drive in Shirley and confronted an occupant inside at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, when the resident confronted the suspect with a knife, a struggle ensued and the victim was stabbed, police said.

Then at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, a resident who was laying in bed at their Putnam Avenue home in West Babylon, when the victim was awakened by three-to-four men in dark clothing wielding handguns, police said.

The suspects in the second case fled with cash and the victim was not injured. It is unclear if the suspect stole anything in the first case and the victim was treated for their injuries.

There were neither any arrests nor description of the suspects in either case. Detectives are continuing the investigations.
