Nassau County police are investigating a police-involved shooting in Westbury early Saturday morning that left a suspect hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
Police responded to Clinton Street at 4:20 a.m. for a suspicious person in a vehicle, a police spokesman said.
Shots were fired and the suspect was injured. The suspect was transported to a local hospital for treatment, the police spokesman said.
Police did not immediately say if the suspect was armed. Information regarding what sparked the shooting was also not available.
The suspect was placed under arrest. Police have not said what the suspect has been charged with.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
