The Nassau County Police Department has released the names of two individuals killed in a car accident on Dec. 22.
According to detectives, 17-year-old Kashyan Patel of Hicksville and 26-year-old Nicholas Zarzana of Mount Sinai were both killed in the accident on West Old Country Road at 11:37 p.m. Investigators said Patel collided with Zarzana, who was making a left turn out of Antun’s Catering with two other passengers, causing Zarzana to strike a third vehicle. Zarzana was ejected from his vehicle into the roadway, where he was possibly struck by another car. Patel’s vehicle skidded across the road and struck a drive. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene, cops said. Zarzana’s passengers were transported to an area hospital.
The investigation is still ongoing.
