Students from Sewanhaka High School dressed in traditional ethnic garb and brought their unique talents to the stage at the high school’s annual International Night.
Sponsored by the world languages department, the show featured diverse performances by students that embodied different world cultures. Audience goers were enthusiastic as they watched high-energy dance performances, including a Bollywood-themed dance, a Chinese dance and a Latin Rhythm dance.
Students who opted to sing did so in French and Italian and received rousing applause from fellow classmates and their families. Student Sonia Padilla-Ortega served as emcee for the show.
Principal Debra Lidowsky said the aim of the event was to have representation from all the groups of students who attend school at Sewanhaka and to show as much cultural heritage as possible.
