Kathy Dormer of Williston Park, Scott Fairgrieve of Mineola and Joe Guardino of East Williston were presented with awards at the Greater Long Island Running Club’s annual awards meeting. Dormer was the Club’s Silver Medal Champion for 2014, Fairgrieve earned top performance honors in the 60-64 age group, and Guardino was the recipient of one of the Club’s Mary Ann von der Heydt Memorial Service Award.
The awards were presented to Dormer and Guardino at the club’s annual awards meeting, held in the auditorium of the Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library on Tuesday evening, Dec. 16 before an audience of more than 200 runners and guests.
“Our club is pleased to honor the achievements of everyone who is an important part of the Long Island running community,” observed Sue Fitzpatrick, the club’s director of development who also manages the club’s racing teams. “Kathy is an exceptional athlete who had an amazing year on the roads in 2014, Scott is a determined athlete who was extremely competitive in his age group, and Joe is a dedicated runner who has volunteered time and time again to help the club out at our many events.”
