Celebrating The Lunar New Year

Kaps_021815BMembers of the Korean American Parent Society (KAPS) of Roslyn visited the Roslyn elementary schools recently to share their Korean heritage and to talk about the customs surrounding Lunar New Year. Dressed in their traditional native clothing, the parents made presentations at Heights, East Hills and Harbor Hill elementary schools.

kaps_021815A“The children were mesmerized by the beauty of their dress and the content of their presentation,” said Heights Principal Regina Colardi. “The generosity of our KAPS parents was once again highlighted in their gift of a basket of children’s books to be shared among our classes at Heights.”

In addition, each staff member received a handmade New Year card. The Roslyn schools community expressed their thanks to all those moms who so generously came and spent their time in the classrooms.
